Welcome to More Perfect Places, We’re Glad You’re Here!
At More Perfect Places, we pioneer the intersection of creativity, emerging technologies, and human-centered design. Our consultancy unites UX researchers, playwrights, theatre professionals, artists, and technologists to conduct innovative "Research for Spaces." We explore where emergent technologies including generative AI, virtual reality, and augmented reality can craft immersive experiences to transform physical spaces and digital environments alike. Our mission is to design and develop extraordinary spaces – both physical and virtual – to inspire connection, creativity, and wonder. We partner with clients to envision and build more perfect places that blend the physical and digital, fostering a more empathetic, creative, and connected world that lies within and beyond our screens.
More Perfect Places is inspired by the 19th century utopian history of the Southern Indiana town of New Harmony that evolved into a site of contemporary art and architecture in the 20th century. As a 21st century emergent technology consultancy, More Perfect Places explores the power of idealism and imagination to rethink the world we live in.
Let’s create a More Perfect Place together!
About a More Perfect Place we created
In 2022, More Perfect Places was a celebratory theatre project written by Seth Bockley in collaboration with Liz Nofziger, Tanya Palmer, and Angela Tillges.
This project was inspired by the 19th century utopian history of the Southern Indiana town of New Harmony, and its evolution into a site of contemporary art and architecture in the 20th century. Combining historical research with conversations with current day Hoosiers, More Perfect Places explored the power of idealism, imagination, and rethinking the world we live in. Is another world possible? Can we make it in our communities? Whose vision(s) will guide us? How does history inform our dreams of the future?
The full utopian spectacle took place on June 10 - 11, 2022 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm at Thrall’s Opera House, New Harmony, IN. It was part community gathering, part formal theater, and part outdoor extravaganza and social time — a multimedia display of contemporary utopian visions from Southern Indiana Youth — results of our school residency work — with live music from local favorites, BlueHarmony!
